Hightide Hotel-Secret Somethings (Acoustic Ep)
"Hightide Hotel is a noodle-y emotive punk band from Philadelphia. Members include Benjamin Schmidt, Christopher Thomas, and David Sampson.
Sound like they don’t have beards because they can’t grow beards."-last.fm
I'm quite a fan of Hightide Hotel's mathy emo rock, but when you combine that with soft acoustic guitars and singing throughout (instead of the occasional yelling) you get something beautiful. This EP is amazing and I haven't stopped listening to it since I've got it.

Ape Up!-2009 Demo
"Ape Up! is a punk band from Boston, MA with ex-members of Algernon Cadwallader and The Opportunist.
They’re better than you, and they know it."-last.fm
This band is fucking awesome.

Snowing-Summer Tour EP
I'm so hungover right now. Here's a two song release from snowing, no i don't have the picture and no I'm not going to look for it. The songs are what you'd expect from snowing, and they fucking rock. I can't wait for some kind of full length from these guys...

King Geedorah-Take me to your leader
"King Geedorah is an MF DOOM side project. A concept album drawing on samples from sources as obvious as Godzilla movies (specifically “Kaijū Daisensō,” titled “Invasion of Astro-Monster” for English release) to those as obscure as the closing theme from the original Gatchaman anime. Other notable samples include one from Just-Ice’s song “This Girl Is A Slut” which appears in the song “The Fine Print” and the original Dark Shadows theme song (which appears in two tracks), to say nothing of an inspired use of a Hall & Oates song opening, “Take Me to Your Leader” offers a diverse and yet strikingly coherent pastiche of cultural artifacts.
Of course, Doom himself raps but very little on this disc, but the “rap-by-committee” approach works so well that you’ll hardly notice the variety of styles, flows, and voices."last.fm
Another MF Doom side project in the vein of madvillain. King geedorah, however, features alot more guests on this album and a wide range of samples. The beats are good, albeit some are a bit strange. If you liked madvillain you will like this.

Edit: the tracklist is all messed up here's the real one.

The Mars Volta-The Bedlam In Goliath
I've been on quite The mars volta binge lately so here's another album of theirs, enjoy.
Bedlam In Goliath
The Mars Volta-Frances The Mute
I saw this band like four years ago at continental airlines arena with a bunch of friends, and it was fucking awesome. They would jam for hours, they technically only played two songs. The crazy lights and vocal effects were really sweet too, especially when you've been smoking blunts the entire time. They even had a twenty minute long bongo part played by some dude in the crowd they had met earlier. The guitarist from the Red hot chili peppers and a few other musicians played with them. Overall it was a fucking awesome experience and it you have the oppurtunity to see this band live, you would be a fool to miss out.
This particular album is (IMO) their most spacey, ambient and weird one. Lots of noise, lots of creepy sounds and electronic noises, etc.. The ambient-ness of it all gives this album a unique feel from their other releases, the actual music is the typical rocking, weird Mars volta style that this band is now becoming known for. I guess it's a proggresive rock type sound but it's really unique and different from, anything on this blog, and most styles of music in general. It's definitely a pleasure to listen to this album.

Madvillain-Madvillainy
"Madvillain is the moniker and stage name for the underground hip-hop collaboration between MF DOOM (MC) and Madlib (producer).
Their debut album Madvillainy was met with critical acclaim for its unique approach - short songs, obscure lyrics, few choruses and a sound which was generally unfriendly to commercial radio. This was directly opposite to the formulas of popular hip hop of the time. The album features a host of guests from stones throw including MED, Wildchild and DOOM/Madlib aliases Viktor Vaughn and Quasimoto respectively.
An instrumental version of the album and two remix EPs from Madvillainy were released on Stones Throw. Remixes were by Four Tet and Koushik. Four years later, in 2008, Madlib released Madvillainy 2: The Madlib Remix. The remix has been described as more psychedelic but with similar un-radio friendly producing styles.
As of now DOOM and Madlib are working on the official sequel. J.ROCC leaks of the new Madvillainy can be found on Youtube. On top of the leaked portions of a mixture of upcoming tracks the whole track “Savior Beans” can be heard with some radio mixing over it as well. There is no official release date yet."-last.fm
I still remember the exact moment i first hear madvillain's music. It was a (very)cold night and i was smoking in a tiny dorm room with very inadequate heating, 'all caps' shuffled on my friends ps3. In my marijuana induced trance, it was the best fucking song ever, and I imediately became a fan. The album is incredible, the old samples give the album a certain feel that I can't quite put my finger on at the moment :(. Anyways, Madvillains beats create such a great atmosphere for MF doom's sound and rhythm. The lyrics are pretty interesting throughout and the many quest spots make this album anything but dull. Everyone should give this album a listen regardless of whether you like rap or not.

Madvillain-Papermill(new track)
Awesome Awesome hip hop duo, MF doom and Madlib. These guys are the shit for real. I'm going to post their album 'madvillainy' up here soon. Some of their songs have been featured on the tv show 'the boondocks'(another favorite of mine). If you like rap or just chill music in general give this a listen.

I think
I'm going to make a coveryourheart mixtape or something along those lines. I also have a few albums I'm going to upload at some point. Also, I'm probably going to do a review of a friends hip hop show on here after the fact, but I'll include some more info as time goes on. So that's about all I have in the works now, expect the mixtape soon.
Edit: didn't realize how long it would actually take me to make this mixtape so I'm putting that on hold right now, give it a couple days ;)

Street Smart Cyclist-S/T 7"
"Street Smart Cyclist was an emo/math rock band from the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. SSC was composed of Jon Geeting on guitar, Ross Brazuk on guitar, John Galm on vocals (replaced briefly by Jonathan “Cody” Garwacke of Yo Man, Go!), Nate Dionne on bass, and Dave Geeting on drums. Brad “the Fat Kid” Raub was the original bass player. Matthew Wirick refused to play keyboards. Street Smart Cyclist formed in late 2005 and started playing out in january 2006. They released one self-titled 7” and sketchy-as-all heck acoustic EP titled “Lint Traps”. They toured the Eastern half the US once, and broke up a few months after having all their equipment stolen out of their van in North Carolina. They played their final show on August 31st, 2008. John, Nate, and Ross went on to form Snowing. Jon and Dave have an as of yet unnamed two-piece band in Brooklyn"-last.fmAwesome band! Once again, I'm really stoned and can't think of a good description but last.fm had a good one for these guys so it's ok. This makes me want to run around like a little kid, hoods up! is definitely a personal favorite of mine.

The Khayembii Communique-LP(discography I think)
"a scratchy seven-inch played over the abyss of intervening years of diversion, desertion, and destruction. also, an abandonment of the past; a regrouping to create something new with the same name."-last.fm
This is fucking classic. The Khayembii Communique are a screamo band and (in my opinion) the embodiment of the 90's screamo sound. This album is so raw, intense and perfect, if you are a fan of screamo music at all(and if your reading this blog you almost definately are) you should give this album a listen if you haven't already.

Lautrec/The reptillian/Boy Problems/Osceola Split
I couldn't find the album art for this so there's a picture of lautrec. I think lautrec and boy problems contribution too this split are the better half. The reptilian is a math rock screamo type band that I don't really enjoy but i know a few people that do, and I'm pretty sure the osceola tracks are on another split too so it wasn't anything new for me. Ranting aside this is still a good album and it's worth the download for the boy problems track 'good grief' alone.

1994!-FCKYRHED
This is math rock/screamo(i guess) band 1994!'s latest album. Although it is kind of short(7 songs about 20 minutes total) It is still really good. In my opinion this is the best thing they have released. 'Thanks all you guys helping' and 'A+ brain' are my personal favorite tracks. This is fucking amazing get this.
